Shoreline and marsh land is heavily regulated. Expect ERCA involvement for almost any work near the water, and confirm what the current owner was and was not permitted to build.

About Malden

Malden is the former township south of Amherstburg, running along the Detroit River as it opens into Lake Erie and out past Holiday Beach and the Big Creek marsh. It is thinly settled: shoreline properties, rural lots and conservation land rather than a village.

Water is the whole story here. Buyers come for river or lake frontage at prices below the equivalent on Lake St. Clair, and accept a longer drive and fewer services in exchange.
